Given that the new Psychology Practice Act has not yet been passed by Parliament, the Board resolved (at its meeting on Tuesday 14 March 2006) to revise Section 4(c) of the Guidelines on Supervision booklet which relates to the requirement for completion of a six year course of study in psychology to become an Accredited Training Supervisor.
This Section has been amended to read:
"The Board requires that the supervisor,
(c) from the year 2007, hold a recognised 6-year course of study in psychology;"
This requirement was previously from the year 2005. Therefore the two psychologists who have applied for inclusion on the Board's list of Accredited Training Supervisors since January 2005 and been refused under this requirement, have now had their applications approved and been included on the Board's list.
